It’s been a long while since I’ve been excited by anything new from budget makeup brand MUA, but their Spring 2015 releases caught my eye and I’ve picked up a few beauties recently which I wanted to share with you.
These two little palettes contain everything you need to conceal and correct a whole range of skin dilemmas. One is a cream-based palette and the other a powder to set the cream. Although the colours look a little ‘out-there’ in the pan, they are actually brilliant for counteracting a range of skin issues:
Peach – neutralises dark circles
Lilac – brightens tired and dull skin
Yellow – cancels out under eye circles and dark patches
Green – counteracts redness
I suffer from all of these at some point during each month, so it’s really handy to have this to cover all bases – the cream palette even includes a highlighter in the centre, so it really is a lovely little all rounder. The powder palette is great for taking away any unwanted shine on the skin, and also has a brightening effect when swirled and applied all over the face.
The Luxe Whipped Velvet Blushes come in a range of five colours – Chi Chi is somewhere between a coral and bright pink shade, which I am embracing in the run up to Spring. Whipped by name and whipped by nature – these blushes are literally like a thick whipped cream consistency which feels a little odd to start with, but actually means that you can apply with a very light touch and it blends a dream, giving a lovely natural look. The first swatch above is straight from the pan and the second is after blending.
Hmmm…remind anyone of the Revlon Lip Butters much….?! That was my first thought when I saw these and for £2 I had to give one a go. Coral Reef is more of a pink shade than a coral, but it’s a beautiful bright Spring shade. The colour payoff is surprisingly good for a tinted lip balm and I think I’ll be wearing this a lot over the coming months. It also smells like vanilla cupcakes – what’s not to love?
Have you tried anything new from MUA recently and what do you think of the new Spring 2015 releases?
