When it comes to skincare, I like to keep things simple. I don’t own tons of skincare products, I don’t have a set skincare routine and I do confess to regularly committing the ultimate beauty sin of using face wipes to remove my makeup (I know, I know – bad blogger!). The one skincare product I do religiously use daily is a facial moisturiser and I am always on the lookout for one to rival my favourite Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream. I have recently been introduced to a new range of skincare called SKINeffect from Lloyds Pharmacy. SKINeffect is a fairly new range to Lloyds and its purpose is to tackle dehydrated skin in just 15 minutes – a bold claim indeed. The range uses a unique anti-waterloss complex called HydraMatrix which works to prolong hydration retention, keeping skin soft and well moisturised.
For the last few weeks I have been using the SKINeffect Intensive Anti-ageing Face Cream* twice a day and I am really impressed. The product includes Shea Butter for its regenerating, moisturising, antioxidant and soothing properties, Myrtle Oil for its antibacterial properties and brown algae and Vitamin B5.
The cream is the ideal consistency for me – it applies really smoothly and it is not too thick, which means it soaks into my skin within a minute or so and is perfect for applying before my makeup in the morning. I hate it when moisturisers leave your skin feeling sticky or greasy and this one does neither. After applying, my skin feels smooth and well-moisturised and I’m left with a healthy, dewy-looking complexion. The moisturiser does have a subtle fragrance to it which I also like.
I have to admit, the packaging isn’t the prettiest – there’s something about the labelling which makes it look a little clinical, but I do like the fact that it comes in a glass pot as it means you can access and use every last drop without any wastage. You also get 50ml of product and you don’t need much for each application, so I think it’ll last a good couple of months or so.
The price of this moisturiser is £15.99, although I notice it’s currently on offer here for £11.99 (as at 27 September 2015). I think this is a really affordable price for a really lovely daily use moisturiser, and it has proved to be a match for my beloved Body Shop Vitamin E moisturiser so I’ll certainly be checking out the other products in the SKINeffect range.
